Calling M6x CA BAR experts - charcoal canister

Hi,

I couldn't find anything on this specific topic , and I am wondering what your experience has been and exactly what you did here to pass BAR .

The M60 donor cars charcoal canister setup is different from E30, the difference appears to be with extra line on e34 canister vs only 2 on e30.

So you have a line from the evaporation valve, then a line from the canister back to the tank...so far so good. I did this on the M30 swap and passed BAR w/o any issues... but if you look at the M60 diagram there is a 3rd line coming from the BOTTOM of the canister, so it's not vented like it is on our e30 cars.


What did you guys do here for line #6 coming from #2 ?

I plumbed mine useing e30 can, purge valve, return line. . But no problem w/ Bar. It is the same carbon can. no #2 or 6

Well that's good news ! So they didn't care that the donor vehicle charcoal canister has 3 lines vs 2 on e30?

Not in my case ... as is said, your results may vary

your first post with ROEM link was the first time I'd even seen a cover with hose on the bottom of can

I picked one of these up today from a 540 donor car, and the bottom of the can basically has a sock looking rubber boot with a plastic hose attached to it. The other end of the hose just drops below the headlight into the fender area and goes nowhere else so I think I am good !
