Fuel Pump Relay - Need a Hack

This is an e30 M20 swap into an E21. I have two wires burned connecting to the fuel pump relay. All the other wires in the engine harness appear ok. How can I replace these wires without opening up the engine harness? In other words, if I run external wires to the fuel pump relay, where would I connect the other end to? Sorry, I'm an electrical dolt. Any way to upgrade the relay and fuse? Thanks.

Maybe don't use those and wire a new relay with wires. Just avoid using those wires entirely. I am surprised a fuse didn't blow. Is the circuit fused?

Yes, and I believe a fuse did blow. This is what I was thinking. Run a new power line from the battery junction box to the power input connection on the relay. Then run a separate wire from the output for the fuel pump from the relay directly to the fuel pump protected by an inline fuse. This would eliminate those two wires from the engine wiring harness and the fuel pump circuit would be isolated from the connector pins and the fuse box. I still think I need to run the wiring from the motoronic and crankshaft position sensor through the relay to make everything work. Does that make any sense?

Yes, makes sense. I would determine if the motronic grounds the relay to activate it. Then use that to power the relay on/off as needed. Does the CPS need to go through the relay?
