M52 swap - No instrument lights and no start

I have just about finished my M52B28TU swap in to my 85' 323i and I when connecting the battery I have no instrument lights/charge light etc to the cluster and the car won't start, but will crank. The adapter harness and ECU was provided by a reputable company with the necessary modifications. Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

First thing get it scanned obd port 16 pin or the 20 pin.
