So I think maybe the timing belt needs to be removed and adjusted. I did the following:
Lined up the timing cover marker with the 0 line on the crank damper( the big grey wheel). The little arrows on the cam and the timing cover line up.
The number 1 piston is at the top. Checked the distributor and the rotor is pointing right at the mark on the distributor housing.
So is everything lined up and ready to remove the timing belt....or did I miss something? Could the oil pump gear be off, even if everything is lined up?
thanks for any help,
jm
