    driver door locking mechanism

My driver side door lock has failed on me. I cannot lock the driver side door but I am able to unlock it. It seems like the linkage is broken somewhere. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make it lock it again?

same with me, i'm almost positive you have to get a new lock, i'm just gonna get one from the yards, it's pretty much the same amount of work as fixing it (if you even can), and the repaired lock is bound to fail again.

BMW sells a rebuild kit for about 36 bones, and it comes with all the tumblers so you can use your origional key. The hard part is getting the old cylinder apart to look at the pattern of tumblers, unless you want to spend hours guessing.

i had this problem with mine too. i took some white grease and put it on my key and worked it back and forth and helped out alot. it made the lock much smoother and seemed to free up the old-ness of it
