Manually turning an electric sunroof motor assembly

My sunroof was working, but now the sunroof headliner got mis-aligned and tore its fabric covering. I removed the headliner without problems. The entire sliding apparatus is covered with black dirty grease. Upon examining the gates (#19) they are both cracked at the forward captive nut. When turning the motor manually with an allen wrench, it is very difficult to turn, making a screeching noise when doing so, although the drive cables do move, albeit reluctantly.Click image for larger version Name:	Image 5-19-25 at 3.02 PM.jpg Views:	0 Size:	139.0 KB ID:	10139574.

I have a set of new gates and drive cables (#17). I was going to disassemble the entire mechanism and clean everything, then reinstall. I hope I can get the timing correct on the new cables.

My question: How hard should it be to turn the electric sunroof motor manually with the allen wrench tool? Even with the sunroof panel and sunroof headliner removed it's still very stiff. I am not sure how to clean the copper tubing (#1) that the drive cables insert into of its old grease and dirt.
