    has this happened to you?

So now the weather is getting hot enough that I went to use the A/C. I have never had a problem with it before now. When I turn it on the RPMs climb up to 4k and continue to climb. If the car is in gear the rpms still climb and pulls the car along. I am worried about this. I have no clue on how to fix this. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks very much for any ideas, suggestions, or comments.

Or amazing how well sarcasm doesn't work on the interwebs...

My bet is a stuck throttle cable.

the engine rpm's increase when you turn on A/C via the computer opening the idle valve and increasing the fuel, not with the throttle cable. if your throttle cable was sticking it wouldnt only stick when AC is on.

sorry totally missed this thread. The belt was missing. It must have blew its self off. I ended up putting all new belts on. Works fine now. So, in a way, it was my own making.
