ABS Light on - What to do after testing

    Hello,

My ABS light came on today on the way to work. When i left, the light shut off affer engine start, and came back on again after starting to move. So its not the ABS relay that i read up about.

I did the "1 sensor at a time" method that I found below, and for every sensor "tested" the ABS light just stayed on through key on, crank, and engine start. Driving the car didn't turn the light off.

What could it be? Bad ABS computer?

      bump, still stumped on this.

i replaced both rear ABS speed sensors and the light still comes on.
i replaced the ABS computer, and the light will still come on.
I tested the wiring connector at the ABS computer, and each pin location functioned correctly.
I tested the relays on the ABS pump and they do what they're supposed to.

My 1991 does NOT have that metal relay on top of the computer which goes bad sometimes, so I cant fix that. is there another relay or fuse in the system located somewhere I can check? what else can I do? Should I replace the front wheel speed sensors? Maybe they output enough of a signal to tell the computer its okay, but when driving, the signal is not enough?

new sensors are over $500 though, so id really like to only do that if I know for sure that is my problem.
