How to manuel crank up window on a facelift

I know on most e30's to manuelly crank up the windows if they fail you take the Z shape allen wrench in your toolkit and pop off the circle on your door panel.

But what if you have a facelift model with the newer motors? There isn't a hole on the doorpanels and if you take the panels off there isn't a spot to use an allen wrench. My sister's rear left window will go down but not up. I've heard you can apply direct power to it, but is there any other way?

What if your driving in the middle of the desert and it rolls down but won't go up? is there no hope unless you carry a spare battery with you?

you pull off the door card and poke a hole in the weather guard. you'll see the spot to manually raise the window.

or put a different switch on that window-- I have found it to be the switch is bad most instances when it only works in one direction.

No I don't think you guys get it, on late model cars there isn't the spot with the allen wrench to manuelly crank it up. BMW removed that spot on later model e30's, even if I did poke a hole where that circle would usually be there wouldn't be a spot to crank it up with. I tried replacing the switch but no luck

Well we fixed the window so I guess it doesn't matter anymore. We checked power and it was getting power as far back as the B pillar. It even got power past the B pillar and when you check power in the door, it was flat. So we took the rubber door joints out and took a look, the black/yellow wire was cut in half!

So I patched it up and that did the trick. Thanks for the troubleshooting tips guys.

While I have a thread going... I know i've seen a thread with 13-button OBC tricks, but is there any tricks for the 6-button OBC? I barely know anything about it except the memo button sets off 3 beeps at 1 minute prior to every hour to remind you to switch to your favorite radio stations or something. anything else?

you insist that the emergency manual crank should be located in the hole. you're funny

its on the motor assembly and its not necessarily an allen socket. I dont remember exactly how it works, i just remember noting there there is a way to roll the window up manually on a power window.

                    Only on the early ones.

Pry plastic off and use a set of needle nose pliers then glue the cover back on. Had to do that last week.

Have an access cover on the door panel you can pop off and use a 4mm hex key to roll the windows up, later ones you have to pull the panel and there is an Allen on the pinoin shaft of the motors gearbox.
