    hood latch problems

trunk doesn't open anymore, and i know how to open it by taking off the driver side grill. But now my problem is how to fix it in order for me to open the hood from the inside of my car. At the end of the hood latch cable, is it supposed to attach to the spring? does anyone know how it should properly look like inside that lock?

If the problem doesn't lie in the lock, what could be the problem?

When my hood wouldn't open it was because the lock, was seized from sitting for a year (left for military), so when I got back and tried to open th hood I broke the cable. It was pretty easy to replace, just remove the panel under the stearing wheel, and follow the cable up through the firewall. I think that is what you are asking. Hope it helps either way.

i did follow the cable up to the firewall below the steering column, the cable seems to be okay. With the hood open, i pulled the hood latch to try and determine the problem, and found that the cable line does not pull much, but ever so slightly.

My hood latch was doing the same, that is how I broke the cable. I just soaked it in PB Blaster and some vice grips and worked it back and forth until it was working smoothly again.
