When I read the title of this post I thought you car had actually gone missing!
Well, it is probably to do with your plugs/distributor. Might be a little more complicated than that, but that would be the first place I would look.

It could be a TON of different things.

First off, what year and model is your e30?

Does it miss all the time? When the engine is warm? cold?

You need to describe the problem better.

check the fuel injector wires. I had one fall off because when I swapped the wiring harness apparantly it didn't get plugged in good enough. Also check the spark plugs, the white porcelain part should be the color of pancakes. If its pure white or black, your mixture is wrong.

you should also find out what cylinder is missing. What I do is remove spark plug wires until I find one that makes NO difference if its hooked up or not. Remove that plug and check its condition. check you fuel injector and check your compression. If the 3 basic things check out (its getting fuel, it has good compression, its sparking) then switch the spark plug with another one on the engine. Apparantly sometimes spark plugs don't fire under load. If the problem moves to the other piston, then you know you got a problem with the spark plug.

Hi guys thanks for the input

                My car is a 1992 325i e30
                from 1000rpm to 4000rpm it flacuates(spelling)
then after that it revs clean

once in a while when a stretch the gears it cuts off for abt a second then goes down
                its also back firing abit

i changed plugs abt 3000km ago

                thanks
