    Sunroof Adjustment??

I am wondering if anyone knows how to adjust a sunroof for heighth. If you know of a link to an article that would be great too. I searched on r3v but every thing I came up with was about leaks. My sunroof is dipping in the back drivers side corner. I have not seen any evidence of leaks so my drains must be ok but I would like to get it even. Thanks.

Cant recall if its in the Bently manual, but i do know its in the shop manual.

My procedure for closing sunroof is ALWAYS make it vent and bring it down and stop at first click. Never come from below because its harder to position the pannel right, unless you are good at making a full turn after first click.

Anyway, to adjust. You need to remove the interior pannel to find screws and set height of pannel. You need to drive pannel back to allow access to get fingers inbetween interior and roof and yank to pop off the clips. There are a couple at the rear too but those you have to attack with pannel vented.
Once the interior pannel is loose, you slide it back, exposing the underside of the roof. Then you have access to 6 Torx bolts, 3 on each side. You will have to make adjustments while the roof is vented. Then bring pannel closed for test fitments.
The manual states that you want to have the front of the pannel 1/16" lower than roof and the rear 1/8" higher than roof in general static closed position. This will account for wind movements and settling.
Personal word of advise, use the correct size torx head! If its loose in the screw, GO GET THE RIGHT SIZE! Those screws are tight in there and Torx heads that size dont have a lot of meat on the head/driver mating parts before they strip.

Oh, while youre in there, you may want to replace the sunroof seal. At this point in the process, its just as well that you just remove the pannel and replace the seals.
The other thing is while moving the interior pannel around, due to its framework being metal, it will tend to take on new shapes. When you get it clipped back into the sunroof pannel, BE CAREFUL while closing the sunroof that the interior slides into its grooves. If its out of whack just a little, you wont know that you ripped your interior until its too late.

between that & Bentley & just old fashioned lookin' at it I got mine pretty close. Still need to fine tune. Take your time and be careful not to tweak your clips. The wooden spoon idea is a great one - if your doing it yourself it will help you pry the panel down while you slide the sunroof fore/aft

This will all make sense when you're in there

Oh - another tip - I have alooooong T25 tool from working on bikes (you know, the T handle style) - it was like $2 at an online bike store - it fits PERFECT for the front bolts (it's a tight squeeze)

          Have fun!
