    Tranny Noise

I've noticed a "clicking"noise coming from the tranny area as I gas and the gear engages.

    Scenario:

When I'm in gear one and going slowly to approach a speed bump, I take my foot off the gas and as i go over the bump, as I once again press the gas pedal, I hear a loud and sometimes repetative "clicking" sound as the gear "engages", causing the car to jerk. It feels like something is loose.

    What could this be from.

It could be a result of cumulative slop in the drivetrain. As you let off the gas, everything in the drivetrain that is loose goes from being pushed by the motor to being pushed by the wheels, that is, pushed in the OTHER DIRECTION. When you get back on it, the same happens again. I would check all mounting hardware for the driveshaft, diff, tranny, etc. but my best guess is that it's not fixable without replacing everything back of the motor. Tranny slop, diff slop, all pretty normal on 15-20 year old cars.
