Last few problems to be addressed

I just got my e30 (91 318i) to start running after replacing the selector rod and alternator/waterpump belt. Thanks for those who helped. Now that the car is running there are still a few minor problems.

First off the gas and water temperature gauge are not accurate and the odomoter does not work. Speedo I think is okay or close enough and the tach is good. Is it worth trying to fix the gauges and gears or just to get a new cluster? Would it just be a swap in swap out procedure and reconnectings the wires/plugs? I am more concerned about the gas gauge because the odometer isn't that important to me really and the water temp gauge definitely works when the car starts to overheat because it started moving to the red once the waterpump belt snapped.

Second, there is a significant vibration noise from the front of the car when it is straight, but once the steering wheel is turned right it stops. The previous owner said that when he drove it it only made that noise when he turned right. Any idea what this could be? There is no rub issue with the wheels and struts as the car is not lowered and is on stock wheels.

All of your help is appreciated I want to get my e30 to run right.

The problems with the gas gauge, temp gauge, and odometer probably don't have a common cause. In the case of the odometer the cause is probably a failure of the gears. The temp gague problem could be a fault in the sensor, wiring, connection of the gauge to the main PCB in the cluster, or the SI board. The fuel gauge problem will be a poor connection to the main PCB in the cluster or a bad level sensor.

Vibration from the front wheels while driving will be worn suspension parts, out of balance/round wheels/tires, bad shocks, or mis-alignment.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
