i have a 1986 325 and it has lost its "balls." My father owned it prior to me and the tires would spin like crazy, and now NOTHING. Any suggestions.?

those are simply examples of car abuse, not power. I can do donuts and burnouts all day long in my 318, doesnt mean its powerful

Clutch could be going south and slipping. Variety of things to look at, but remember KISS.

Keep It Simple Stupid this is not directed at you but it's a general statement.
