    eta valve cover gasket

OK, so i did a search on the forums and didnt find all that much concerning this. I need to replace my valve cover gasket on my 87 325es. It has the older motronic and its looks as though I am gonna have to take the entire intake system apart just to get to the valve cover and replace gasket. Who has som einsight as to what all needs to come off?

    thanks

No, it'll come off. The breather hose might be pretty hard to get off, so I'd say to just cut it and buy a new one, then lodge the new one in.

You can get the cover off with the intake manifold and everything on - you just have to work it out of there. (That bracket comes off after a few bolts).

I did everything smoothly on our 1987 325, so it's definately easy. ;)

Very incouraging thank you. I am also going to paint the cover any suggestion on paint brand and type looking for black crinkle type paint. I think I read else where that Harley makes a paint like this.

I painted mine too. I just went to Walmart and bought some high heat black paint. I did kind of a half assed job, but it does look a lot better than it did before. I might have a pic somewhere around here if you wanna see it?

When I asked where to get the wrinkle black Jordan suggested a Harley dealership. I bought mine there and it turned out pretty good.
