Relay clicking on and off behind gauge cluster?

Today when I got in my car (cold) and started it up, I noticed that about every 10-15 seconds it sounds like a relay's clicking on and off behind the gauge cluster. This happens whether I'm moving or not, and sounds like it's happening at the same frequency. Any clues?

my a/c relay does this all the time. I think mine is goiung bad though, because sometimes it clicks on and off repeatedly (5 or 6 clicks in under 5 seconds) not in a fashion that it should.

SOme compressors do just turn on and off more than others. My chevy truck cycles a few times a minute,as does my 91 318i. Other vehicles cycle maybe once a minute or less.
