    +5v source for MAP sensor

I'm trying to find a 5 volt power source that i can tap to power the 2 bar map sensor im using to monitor boost. i wasnt aware that i needed a 5 volt source and wired it up to a 12 volt source from the car.

Is there a wire that i can use?

did i fry the MAP sensor?

    Is the AFM supply 5v??

You may need one of those voltage reducing diode things from an electronics store, pretty cheap.

Doesnt a resistor lower the voltage?

a resistor should lower the voltage, but you would probably want a regulator of some sort i think.

And yes, doesn't the AFM get a 5v reference voltage? use that

yes i can get a voltage regulator, that wouldnt be too bad.

Does anyone know the color/where the wire is located that sends power to the AFM?

and did i fry my MAP?

you may have gotten lucky with your MAP. I did stupid shit on my MAF and didn't fry it. Depends on the protection circuitry.

Why don't you probe the lines w/ a voltmeter to find a constant 5v?
