Gas pedal removal?

I know how to get the top of the gass pedal off, but the bottom bolts to the floor, doesn't it?

The bottom base of the gas pedal broke today on the way home, so i had fun driving home with a floppy pedal.

There is a metal casing with three rectangles on thec side that you can see. Push (with a big flat head maybe) in the three tabs that are holding the embeded plastic in place. You will have to pull the carpet a vit maybe.
