    does my 1984 325e have a LSD

I know some of the ETAs came with 2.93 LSDs stock but, i am not sure which one i tried looking under the diff and looking for the S but there was to much dirt and what not and could not wipe it off. i am pretty sure i have a LSD stock 2.93 it feels like it when i do burn outs and what not. does anyone know what year the ETAs came stock with LSDs.

Unless someone put it in there, your eta should have a 2.79 open rear. And there is a thin metal tag on the diff cover on the right side that tells you what gears are in it and also if its a limited slip.

If you really want to know if your diff is open just jack up a rear tire and try to spin it. If it rotates then you have an open diff, if it doesn't then it is an lsd. The tranny needs to be in neutral of coarse!
The difference between porcupines and BMWs is that porcupines have the pricks on the outside!

            i had a 2.79"s" on mine.

actually it feels nice to drive with an LSD, you could spin the wheels so easly.

i am pretty sure my Fail vert has an open diff. i am getting 4.10LSD for it soon.

jack it up and spin both tires, if they both spin in the same direction, you have an LSD.

i did that test while i was getting an oil change, i know for a fact that my current car has an open diff because i only spin one wheel. FML :(

I thought if the wheels spun in the opposite direction then you have an open diff. If they turn in the same direction then you have a LSD.

You can buy 3.73lsd pretty cheap. Why don't you just get one of them and wake your car up and leave the welder alone. The 2.79 rear gear is a dog. Welding the rear will make the make it bind going around tight corners.

                              he drives an eta.

2.79S is good, if you want to upgrade get a 3.25LSD. great acceleration and very good fuel economy!:p
