WIPERS have a mind of their own

Yesterday was very rainy and my wipers were on for most of the day. As the rain would stop, I would turn the wipers off, but they would keep on going at the medium speed. They would go off after turning them off and on a few times, but sometimes they would stay on until I turned the car off and then on again.

Today was nice and sunny, but as I was driving, the wipers came on again and wouldn't stop woking until I turned the car off. They just come on by themselves out of the blue.

I know it's Halloween, but I didn't expect my wipers to just come to life and do as they please...

    What's going on?

    Check your wiper fuse/relay.

I replaced the relay with a brand new one, replaced the fuse and checked the ground. The same problem persisted.

I finally fixed it though. It was a loose connection at the washer fluid canister where the connector that controlls the release of fluid had come loose.

I tightened it and it's now fixed. It is the connection that faces the engine and has two wires coming out of it.
