    ac compressor issue

well, i finally recharged my ac system after not using it all winter, but GA is getting hot so i charged it. now note the sound as soon as the camera is out of the car, and when it goes almost all black. I'm trying to determine if that is the compressor, or the compressor clutch? realoem says that its all one part, so am i going to need to jsut buy a whole new compressor?

you can replace the clutch, but you won't be able to find a new one.. maybe from another used compressor.

Seems to be the clutch, I had the same problem and your noise is alike. It would be wise for you to buy a used/new compressor as the regular price is almost alike. Good luck.

My compressor clutch got chewed up.. it seemed the compressor jammed and the clutch started to split. At some point I heard a loud pop, which turned out to be the rubber section separating. So, your underlying problem may be the compressor; the clutch may just be a symptom.

I have a used compressor. I'll sell it cheap. It worked fine before I took it off and wrapped it up. PM me if interested.
