    Extra holes in Tstat housing?

Hey I bought a new Tstat housing from someone and It has two extra threaded holes. What are they for? My old car doesn't have these holes.

Also, Does anyone know what size they are so I can plug them?

    TIA

its to remove the water pump, u put bolts in them for it to press the pump off the motor if its stuck on there good, just like brake rotors have them

No, these are in the thermostat housing. They go all the way through to the chamber behind the thermostat.

one is for the coolant temp sender, one is for the coolant temp sensor (ECU), these are for I engines, i assume you have a ETA motor.

i thuink they are M14x1, but you would be better off getting the correct one.

          Let me clear something up.

I have an 87 eta. Im doing the 1.3 swap.

I bought what I was told was a new late model "i" Tstat housing from someone. It has 4 holes, the housing i pulled from my 89i parts car has only 2 holes.....but its all rotted out. :(

Assuming it's not a huge proplem, ill just plug them and go on with life. But was curious if anyone knew the sizes of those holes.

          Thanks

The current production thermostat housings are a "one size fits all" type and have four threaded ports. You can get generic drain plugs from an auto parts house the plug the unneeded ports.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

14x1.5 is the correct size. Ran into the same issue when I did my M1.3 swap. RealOem show the plugs as follows:

                01Thermostat housing 1 09/1987 11531730470 $56.08
                only in conjunction with
                --Screw plug AM14X1,5 2 09/1987 07119919228 $0.61
                --Gasket ring A14X18-AL 2 09/1987 07119963200 $0.22

In my case I took the cheap way out, I left the temp switch and thero-time switch in the housing, but left them un-connected.

Thanks, I just went to the store and got some 14x1.5 drain plugs with crush washers. Problem solved. Now i just wish i could get my car started.

Timings good, got fuel at the regulator, go spark, Next though is that the FPR is bad. (it sat for a while)
