    Cleaning Carbon deposites?

Im doing my headgasket right now and I was wondering if i should try to clean some of the carbon off of the pistons? I dont want to eff anything up but there is quite a bit of shit on there.

    Thanks

I usually just scrape it off if there's a thick coating. That's done by bringing a cylinder to TDC, covering the other cylinders and scraping. Then finish with compressed air to blow junk out od the gap between the piston and cylinder. Repeat for each cylinder. If the deposit is thin, just ignore it.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Cool, thanks.

I ended up doing that anyway.

Put a little oil on cylinder walls.Turn over once. The rest of the crap will stick to the top of the cylinder wall. Wipe clean. - Steve
