hey guys, i am relatively new here, but i have some trouble with my motor(325i). sometimes (well, usually now) when more than tap the throttle is given, the motor cuts out. I can drive it, but very very very slowly. My check engine light comes on when this is occuring. sometimes it stops, the check engine light goes away, and the problem is gone. but it is becoming more and more permenant. I dont know what to do, so i was hoping you all could help me. it seems to get better as the car warms up, but it is DEFINATELY still a problem. I would say more than a decent movement on the throttle, and the motor cuts. I can let out on the throttle and the motor will go again, but acceleration is a difficult task. But like i said... sometimes it completely stops doing it, and comes back later. PLEASE HELP! thank you all.

Sounds like an intermittent electrical problem. My first guess would be the throttle body sensor, then the AFM. Look at your Bentley and follow the test instructions with a multimeter. Let us know what you find out. -
maybe also check spark plugs... but it sounds more like what matt said. my E30 loves to flash check light and abs check when i hit bumps hard...Comment

I would check out the condition of your cat. It could be clogged up causing this condition. It sure sounds like it and the check engine light would also be coming on if so...KrisComment
