faulty gas gauge

hi gruppe

so now my gas gauge has been acting up. I havent been driving the car much the last couple of months. Now the gas gauge shows rather high - almost full.
OBC shows i have 150miles to go...which should be right.

So what could be the issue? some switch/sender going bad or just the gauge?

I overtightened one of the screws on the back of my cluster once, and the gas gauge ran full no matter the fuel level, could be an issue...

Could also be a bad guage, mine usually shows 1/4 tank under what it really is and it was working fine about 3 months ago.
