my friend had the problem on his carbeurated small block chevy and he said it was a vaccuum leak.

could a vaccuum leak be my problem also? or something else?

How the hell does the engine vibrate when it's off?

maybe you've got a small dog living in your engine bay?

hey, mine does that too !
i'm not sure whether it's the motor mounts / transmission mounts. some ppl said it's the cat heatshield.

My first car was a Chevy Van (thanks pops!). It would 'diesel' when you turned it off. (Continue running for a bit) It was so embarrassing!!! I used to shut it off and walk off quickly before it started doing that shit.

It's the motor mounts. The transmission only gets vibrated around if the motor does, so if the motor mounts were bad, along with the tranny mounts, i guess that could exacerbate the problem.
