Direction of vacuum for coal canister.

Wich way is the air sapposed to flow throught the hose?
Into the throttle body, or out the throttle body?

I've takin the hose off acouple times and can't remember. :?:
It's the one behind the W.O.T switch btw. The way it is right now, is
the air going out the T/B, into the canister.. It's been like this for weeks so....

Actually it does serve a purpose Josh, you just don't know what it is that it is.

The canister should have arrows on it. The smaller tube goes to the TB.

The canister is for storing gasoline vapors from the vehicle's fuel tank/suntil the engine is ready to burn them off. On e30's the valve opens when you are coasting and burns off the fumes.

built up pressure in the vent line from the fuel tank....


edit: i should add, when the valve it closed ;)

Just don't plug that line up and it won't pressurize.
The only real "problem" is that'll smell like gas.

Wich way is the line sapposed to go?
When I blow through it, it only blows one way.

If it's open so the throttle body can suck through, it'll be like a vacuum leak..
And if it's setup so the throttle body blows through, the canister won't be able
dump fumes in the manifold.. :?

Does that one way valve in the hose open at a certine pressure, like a wastegate? (flow going to the canister)

or is there a valve inside the canister that opens and closes so there's no vacuum leaks if the hose is setup that way.. (flow going to the throttle body)
