    ? Hella lights

Over the weekend I put in the H1 H4 upgrade to the car 87 325is.

When I wold turn on the High beams the fuse would blow, after putting in a 10amp fuse this solved the problem.

THese are 55w high beams, has anyone else had this happen, do these lights draw that much more current

    Yes they are wired correctly.

Fairly common. Stock fuse is 7.5amp I think, so a 10amp won't hurt anything.

    I have 10amp fuses for my high/lows.

What wattage are you running for the H4's? same? As mentioned 10 amps won't hurt it but beyond that you are risking a wire fire.

I ran those 10 amp fuses for a long time when I had my Hella H4s. No problems at all. Now I have 15amp ones in there because occasionally the 10s would pop during the HID startup. The wire doesnt get warm to the touch anywhere during the startup. 8)
