My compressor clutch just took a shit on me... it spit some black goo out of itself. Guess the geenie finally escaped.

I put gas in my A/C about three weeks ago. Everything turned on but turned off by itself sometimes. Also, whenever I go to the 3rd position it would just shut off. I found when I pressed a relay in the fuse box under the hood it would magically turn on again. I also found a fuse blown and replaced it. No more problems, until today that is... now its back to intermittent on/off.

Is there anyway you can hotwire the clutch to a battery to see if it engages or not?

                Thanks

Check for voltage at the connector for the magnetic clutch when the A/C button is pressed on. If you get voltage when the button is pressed, and the clutch doesn't kick on, then the clutch and/or magneto is fried.

My A/C and the recirculate button are super hot when on. Is this normal?
