    my obc says "pppp"

hey guys has anyone ran across this problem,

i went to check the temp. one day and then it all the sudden pops up saying "pppp"
    it says it on

    -range
    -comsum.
    -speed
    -temp.

it also says in the owners manual to see the dealer if this happens. may someone could look it up in their bmw shop manual. i like my obc and i want it back

    thanks in advance

Mine started doing weird crap like that one time, I just pushed on it hard and it stopped. Don't know why, but it worked.

Mine always does that too, as eruospeed said I just push on it hard or thump it and it goes away. Just look @ it this way, the aliens may be trying to make contact with you. 8)

I don't have my owners manual with me, but there are several fuses that power the obc. I think the one you want also powers the radio, so make sure you have the anti-theft radio code if you want to be able to use your radio. When I had the PPPP thing I fixed it by unplugging the fuse, turning the key to the ON position, and then plugging in the fuse.

alright guys i figured out how to fix this and what it means.

when your obc says "pppp" it means it had a power sugre, from jumping cars shorting circuits etc.

the way you can reset this is.

put the ignition in slot 1

          press CODE

then press the little reset button you have to get with a pen in the lower right hand corner.

it just resets all the obc memory so you will have to enter date and time again.

you can do it this way or pull the connector out of the back of the obc ;)

I tried both of those methods and neither worked for me. I ended up trying a bunch of things myself before the method from my above post fixed it. Anyway, I'm glad you got it working! :)

So which fuses are those exactly? Sorry for bumping such an old thread but why create a new one.
