    M3 manual Rack?

I really like the feeling of manual steering but would like a shorter rack. DId any e30 m3's come with manual racks and how hard would they be to find?

I don't know if the M3 came with a manual rack, but I know of someone who is running a power rack with no pump. All he did was fill the rack up with fluid and capped it off with some plugs. I don't think he has had any trouble with it this way.

I took off the belt and pully.

        No problems for 3 months.

In the 318is, I know the manual rack is 4.2 turns lock to lock, unlike the P/S's 4 turns.

wrong, i just installed a euro manual rack in a car and it has the same ratio as the power, just a different feel, both 4.2 turns lock to lock i think, but both the same none the less.

Matt325is is the one who did it, so far he's had no problems. And he did it years ago.
