Common idle problem??

i have a 1992 m50 n/v engine.

When i start it up, the idle will initially hunt up and down. Eventually the idle will raise up to 1500rpms and hold.

Not sure if this is the symtoms of a vacuum leak or maybe a problem with my IAC. Its really hard to find information that can help me.

The first thing to to is to have a smoke test run to check for intake leaks.
