Head water jackets

i tried posting this in the 24v swap section to no avail.

have you guys seen m50s with only 2 coolant passages per cylinder as opposed to 4?

i have one that has 2 in the head but 4 in the block (per cylinder). so 2/4 of all of them dead end into the head surface.

whats the deal with this?

it is a vanos head.

i cant take pictures of it because its at the shop right now, the block is just like any other block. ive found a picture of 24v head with only two passages per cylinder a while back but it took a long time to find and i did not save it.

but its simple really. imagine or look at a block and youll see a passage at each "corner" of the cylinder, 4 of them. my block is like that, but imagine two of those just die into the head because theres only two in the head per cylinder.
