    recharge a/c question?

Where do you recharge it because there is two lines? Do you charge it on the line that is above everything when you open the hood or the line that is bellow behind some stuff?

    Thanks

So my car has been converted cause it has the little adapters on the fittings. I pushed the valve pin and the system is empty. So I tried charging it but the comp clutch doesn't come on. The a/c button lites up but nothing. What can I test for? I have an extensive background in car electronics but not really mechanics so can someone pointe in the right direction. Thanks.

put a 12v, or a jumper, and clamp one end to the somewhere on the compressor for ground the other oth te positive power to the compressor. You should find it easily, if you have more than one line, you should be able to tell which one is the +. Either way, if you jolt it, and the clutch doesnt engage, the compressor clutch is dead, and you just need another compressor.

If the system is completely empty the compressor will be disabled by the low pressure switch in the receiver/dryer. To charge the system you have to temporarily bypass the low pressure switch.

But since the system is compeltely empty you have a leak that needs to be found and fixed before attempting a recharge.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Who knows what the jackass before me did.

Thanks. Bypassing the switch kicked on the compressor.

How long do you think it will take to completely charge the system?

like 30 oz it shouldnt let it turn the pump on till it has a decent charge it needs the fluid to cool the pump jumping the pin is to test if the switch is bad when u kno it has a good charge u could damage the pump without the correct amount
