    AC Sliders

So i was removing my head unit today to run wires for a new amp, apparently one of the wires got stuck on the top ac vent slider and when I went to use it, the arm snapped off of the panel that closes the vent, and off of the slider arm, so now my top vents are stuck open, and the arm is dangling. Is there any easy fix without removing the dash? Im going to try to glue the arm back to the panel and reattach it to the slider arm. Happened to anyone else?

EDIT:: The Actual plastic piece broke off of the panel, it didnt just come off of the arm.

I discovered this was for the recirculation button instead of the top ac slider. Can someone explain the signifance of this to me?

You don't have to remove the dash to get at the climate control section. You can access that by removing the trim panel in the center of the dash.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The moving arm i am referring to is actually located behind the big blower motor. If you would like I can take pictures tomorrow. It is the arm that is actuated by the recirculation button.

you may need a whole new blower motor. its one big system.

Most people rarely use the recirc button on the system. I might use it to or three times a year when it is really hot and want the AC to not use the air from the outside. I would think you are ok to live with it broken!
The difference between porcupines and BMWs is that porcupines have the pricks on the outside!

OP - the rods are on both sides, they connect to the actuators.

Wrong. Lots of pieces on the a/c and heater box are removable.
