    327i ecu

    Say I've got a 2.7eta bottom-end with a euro 2.0i or 2.3i head:
What ECU is best to use, stock ECU that is?? 325i??
What modified (or chip) ECU is best to use?? Jim C??

    TIA

I would say the 325i 173 ecu is the best of the bunch, with the JC chip, yes.

If you're doing the 2.7i stroker, try to get a hold of a copied Alpina chip. Or one of those other Euro tuners that made 2.7i E30s in the 80s. Hartge too? Or even better yet, get an SMT-6 and tune it yourself. Do the MAF conversion while you're at it and you'll see more noticeable gains.

I have an Alpina 2.7 chip in mine and it worked a hell of a lot better than the stock chip.

Is it geniune, or just a good copy? I'd love to get one as I may make a 2.7i if I can find a decent super eta to tinker with.

I have a good source of them. For Alpina Z1 units.

I have a copy of the alpina 2.7 chip in my touring. It runs smooth, but idles at about 900. It runs good and hasent skipped a beat since I bought it. I got mine from Karim off e30.de he has that turbo conv. dark blue. try to get ahold of him I got mine for 50 euros

Mine are the same price as Mike's approximately 50 euro. I will not say they are Alpina though. They are from a Z1 Alpina.
