    Best engine rebuild book(s)?

I'm starting to piece together the turbo project for the S52. A lot of people tell me that with a good headgasket and ARP studs it will reliably sustain the boost level I want. But I know the right way is a piston/rod swap. This means pulling the engine and basically doing a rebuild.

I've never done this before but with this car being what it is to me, other than having the block and head machined, it's either I do it myself or I don't do it. This project is taunting me, saying "HAAHAA, you coward, you will never attempt this". So of course I want to. Can you guys recommend a good book to study on how to do these things right? More than one book is fine, I'll read it all. There probably isn't one but if there's a good M5x specific rebuild reference too, that'd be bonus.

    Thanks,
    D

    The "right" way??

How much power are we talking here. What cams? What kind of lift? Static CR? Boost Levels? Methanol?

Current : Z3 S50 OBD2 (Smog Legal) 6 Speed BBS RN Dual Ear Diff

Best book that I've found is http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The...089268/?itm=28

It's aimed toward v8 crowd, but covers a lot of info. Barnes&Nobles usually has it on the shelf.

I'm looking for 450-500 at the wheels. Right now the plan is to just put in a .140 MLS hg and ARP studs. But VAC's turbo build kit looks very appealing (so 8.5 CR). Cams will be stock. Pump gas.

Its not a rebuild book, but check out Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. Really great book about...you guessed it.
