Auto ttrans dipstick removal.

I am new to the E30. I feel real stupid in that I cannot remove the automatic transmission dipstick. I see what appears to be the dipstick near the fire wall but cannot remove it to check the level. What gives?

You probably have the dipstick handle that looks like a small cylinder. Tip the top of the handle forward and pull up.
