Differentials... 3.73 LSD to extreme for eta?

    Well is it?

I am going to have it in my car for a while, until i rebuild my 2.93 LSD. I won't be doing much highway travel obviously, but I will be doing lots of racing. What is the max ratio someone should put in an eta, even when being used for highway miles? 3.46 or whaterver that middle one is, or the 3.25?

    Quick car here I come!

most people go with 3.25 or 3.46 in the eta. If i remember form the old days of DTMpower i recall Mariano's eta having a 3.73LSD if im not mistaken

i used a 3.73 diff in my super eta for awhile, it worked fine gains are amazing, but then again not the most practical if you do a lot of highway driving.

I have a 3.73 on my eta, however I also have an automatic

helped acceleration a shitload, overall the car is faster as well.
for 5 speed though is too steep imho, 3.46 is a high as u want with a 5spd

well... we know it fits.... & works.... for a temporary substitute, i'll tide you over

although when you go back tot he 2.93, it'll suck ;)

          i say try & find a 3.25

I'm thinking of finding an LSD, so is 3.25 the best to go with, Oreo, or would a 3.46 be good too? I'll be doing a lot of both, so, whatever gives me the best of both worlds. :)

well incase yall care i put a 4.10lsd in my 325is (orginally 3.73) and now the gears are short and that wasnt raising the ratio that much. switching from a 2.93 to anything higher than 3.25, or wahtever, would be a huge change. just for your info

i picked up a 3.91LSD a short time ago... i do enough fwy driving that i didn't want to go with the 4.10 straight off the bat, although it sounds like a lot of fun. if i'm not happy with what i have after a few bolt-ons and a chip, i'll find an m3 diff, but i think it should be ok...

A 3.73 is a bit much unless you can raise the rev limiter to 5500 or more. Here is a pic of my eta with a 3.73. My top speed, according to my speedo is 124mph @5400rpm.

Don't forget the good things Hitler did.

When I installed 3.25LSD and I noticed big different that RPM running real low and can feel increase speed when you press gas. I m not sure excatly number anyway I tested up to 100 mph and got close to 3,500 rpm and plenty muscle to go

3.73 is to tall for a ETA, hope you like shifting!!

Swapping a diff out is a great upgrade, but you can go overboard and kill acceleration due to so much shifting!

3.25 would be a nice upgrade, 3.46 if you don't mind shifting.
