will a dead fuel pump kill a new relay?

I have a new oem fuel pump on its way from bma but it wont be here until wed. I already received a new fuel filter and relay in the mail and will toss them on today. What I wonder is if I try to start it up with a allegedly dead fuel pump will it kill the relay? Should I just wait until wed when I will have the pump in?

Now I had actually taken the fuel pump out of the tank and hooked it up to a 12v battery charger and it fired right up, however (ever so fucking stupid of me) I had it towed to a shop(i thought AND STILL think its something more than the pump) and low and behold the mechanic told me its the fuel pump (after I swapped a used but tested working one in...even tested the old one and it worked as well)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I've only had one fuel pump go bad so far and the relay survived. If you need spare relays, I get OEM relays at $2.50 each from the Vegas salvage yards. You might be able to find something similar where you live.

    Adios for now,

not familiar with FP relay, but 85 and 86 are usually the switched input/ground. 30 is usually power in, and 87 is usually power out. so paperclip between 30 and 87.
