reasonable qoute for master/slave cylinder

So I'm away at school and don't have the time to replace the master/slave cylinder myself. I asked a local shop and was quoted $250 in just labor. I was gonna supply the parts. Sounds a little high to me. Whats the going rate for something like this?

you cant find 2 hours and a couple simple hand tools. But yes it sounds about what book time probably is.

Well I know with most shops if you supply parts its going to cost more for labor because 90% of shops make money of parts.

Say you go into an auto store to buy a slave cylinder.
Walk in cost for you is 50.00
Garage cost is 30.00
Store cost is 20.00

Everyone makes money. But if you go buy a slave from an online store and take it to a garage to have them install it they loose the 20.00 they would have made off the parts. So there for they will up the price on labor to make the money they would have from the get go. Shity thing by taking your own parts in is if something happens like driving down the road and your clutch goes out your shit outa luck. Why? Because you brought in your own parts and the garage doesnt offer any type of warranty. So you pay for all of your parts and labor all over again. In the end its just easier/cheaper for you to spend the hour at most replacing the parts yourself or pay the garage and let them supply the parts.

Hey Azn, how many hours are in that $250 and is that including flushing & bleeding the whole hydraulics ?

Depending on their labor rate that is not too bad.
I wouldn't worry about bringing in your own parts.
