    chevy trouble light

thought I would share this. I know many of us want to get cluttr out of the engine compartment, but this adds a little. Installed one in my wifes volvo, then grabbed one the other day from the wrecking yard and put it in my e30
yes it is a bit bulky, but for reason. it is wired to the parking lights, and has its own little toggle switch, the bulk comes from a 2o foot wind up cord in the housing. so in the winter months ahead of us, so now I have an engine compartment light, I can take a trouble light to anyplace under the car, or even to the back pass wheel to fix a flat,, so for me the convience outwieghs the bulk it adds ( bulk in apprance, weight minimal)
this one came out of a 92 chevy 3/4 ton truck paid $5 for it. the detachable light has a magnetic base and this looks uglier in the pic, then it does in the car. it was the best place I could find to locate it,, could have put it in the trunk, but I think it will get used more as an engine compartment light, hope I dont need it

awesome, I was thinking of aimed LEDs on a switch under my hood where the washer jets are. That way i can at least have a bit of light. And turn them off during the day

I have a similar light in my K5 I robbed out of a fullsize Bronco about 10 years ago. It's made by IBM or some other non automotive company. Mine has a tilt switch and the cord has an auto winder.

Sometimes it's just nice to know there's a light there when you're out and about and forgot your flashlight.
