spilt coffe from 5 years ago! hell it could be anything, leaving the mat on top will make it so it just sits there.

im not positive that its not coolant, but it may very well be, i am losing coolant VERY VERY slowly. if it is coolant, where is it coming from? my doubt of it being coolant is that I tasted it, and it's not sweet like coolant is (only way to tell water from coolant) but it does have that wierd scent.

i know that, but if it was the heater core, wouldnt it just spew out really bad, not slow, slow, slow leak over time?

It could be dripping out of the heater core valve above the gas pedal. A friend's e30 m3 did this and had the exact same symptoms you describe.

if it was coolant you should be able to smell it as such... (your nose does work, right?) it probably smells like bacteria/mold growing in your carpet padding.

i'd wager you have some rust issues.

it sorta has some funk, but its very! VERY! hardly noticable, smells like old water kinda, and like i said, it doesnt taste like coolant... i garuntee i have rust issues, but i've never noticed any gaping holes in the undercarrige or anything like that

I had htis problem too, I took everything apart, ripped out the carpet, cleaned up the water ( i dont think it was coolant either) The floor was mint, no rust. I couldn't see where it was coming from, I took apart the heater code, then put it back together.

So far I haven't seen anywater yet.

its the drain in your engine bay. look on the firewall for a plastic piece that lets the water out of your drains, it is probably clogged up big time. just empty that out and your problem should be fixed...
