    Throttle Body oil lines help.

My car has been burning oil recently but I never found out why. I was guessing it was my piston rings going bad. My friend told me to check my intake oil lines ( he used a more specific term, I'm just too clueless to remember )..... could be spilling oil into the intake and that oil is going in with the air to be combusted.

It made sense because I remember asking if it was ok to have some oil in the AFM a long while back and I think Kris (bimmerphile) said some was ok... So today I take off my intake boot and the first thing I see is oil dripping off the intake boot ( from the TB side ). I took a quick look and I saw that the 3 hoses connected to the throttle body are connected.... one goes to the valve cover ( head ), another one to the block, and the last one seems to go to the water pump.... although I dont know what oil would be doing in the water pump.

Anyways, here's the question..... how can I single out which hose is sending all that extra oil to the TB?

Any extra help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Erick

It's called the breather, and there are 2 on M20 cars. The one you're probably more worried about is the rubber one, it goes from the top of the valve cover, under the intake manifold and plugs onto the side of the throttlebody (the side more toward the front of the car.) It'll be the biggest of 3 hoses on that side, the other 2 are coolant.

Right.... gotta see if I can find a part number for that.

Do m10's, m20's (e30 engines altogether) run PCV systems? i was expecting to find a PCV valve on the valve cover but mayber its somewhere else, maybe my m10 doesnt have one.
