Getting rid of my Fog Light Delete

So the previous owner of my 1991 318iS had done a fog light delete on my car. Now that I have the funds to buy some new lenses, I'd really like to get my fogs working again. I tried tracing the wire that the fogs wiring comes from but I couldn't follow it all the way. So, what is the easiest way to reconnect my fog lights?? Pictures would be EXTREMELY helpful! Thanks! :)

A good number of 318's came with the fog light deletes. There should be plugs in there somewhere. And you will need a foglight switch

I have my fog light switch, I just can't find the wiring for it. I don't understand why they would come with fog light deletes and still have what appears to be working fogs? If anyone knows where those damn wires are that would be a great help! Thanks guys!

I have done it to my old 318is, whih came stock with no fogs, and no fog swtch.

Bought plugs from realoem, then wired them from my parking lights. Shrink wrapped it, loomed it, and used a slightly higher amp fuse. Good to go.

Correct, the fogs themselves are still there with the wiring too. I just can't seem to find where the wires end up so I can get a fog light switch and connect them.

have you looked all over your interior to see if there is another switch somewhere?

Yup, no switches in the car. It has the proper fog light delete panel where the button should be too, so they knew what they were doing. I just can't find the wires to reconnet the fogs :(

Get the front of the car up on jack stands (securely and SAFELY). Once it's up on stands, get under the front valance/bumper area and look straight up on the L & R side. You SHOULD see your vehicle's horns. Right above the L & R horn, or in the area of them under the radiator core support, you should then also see the factory fog light harnesses w/ the plugs on the end - these will not be plugged into anything, just sort of hanging. Pull them down to each of their respective foglight holes, insert/mount your foglights and plug the connectors into the back of the fogs.

On the inside, you will need to remove the dash cluster & surrounding bezels, along w/ the knee bolster, because you will have to search for the factory supplied fog light switch harness. This has been said to be in, around or near the steering column. Some have found it taped to the existing headlight switch harness, others have found it stuffed in or around the bottom of the cluster area, while some have found it taped or secured to the steering column harness. Each vehicle is different and depending on how the wires were stuffed during original assembly OR if a PO screwed around with it, you do have to search for it... Again, it's going to be a connector/harness that is not plugged into anything at all, and obviously will fit the factory foglight switch...

One more thing - you will need the foglight relay, as if your vehicle did not come w/ fogs from the factory (fog delete), then the relay is or will be missing from your underhood fuse box (IF no PO ever installed fogs). I forget the exact size or specs for that relay, but I'm sure if you search on here or any other E30 site, there will be plenty of threads discussing fog light installs on those E30's that never had them...

                              best of luck
