bought a New E30.... Locked out!

So... i bought another e30 last night. 91 325i auto, no transmission. Plan to do manual swap. car is locked up tight! The paint looks good interior is decent, but the catch no key! The shop where the car was sitting burnt to the ground he says that the key was in a box in the shop but he also says there might be a key in the glove box so all the fluids looked good. i hand him the waffleswaffleswaffles. he hands me the title

So i finally get into the car via slim jim, check the glove box, box is locked up. so the hinges in the back of it are broke so i stick my hand up in the glove box from the back and try to feel around but, i can find or feel anything. to make me feel better i keep thinking about that black widow spider i saw in the door jam earlier

    My options :

    1. call bmw to get a key cut
    a. have to have registration
    b. my county has emissions so no regis w/o running car!
    c. Any one know the cost?

    2. take the lock out of the door, let Locksmith make a key
    a. Still wont unlock trunk or gb
    b. cheaper
    c. i Dont want to take the lock out

    3. drill out all the locks
    a. can use screwdriver to start it
    b. never can get locked out

    4. go sifting threw ashes for a meltd peice of german alloy

    throw me some other options!

    problem solved!

went in through kick panel, unscrewed the bolts to the trunk!

Then took out the trunk lock

Im going to take that to the lock smith.

Proof of title and identity along with the car's VIN is all you should need to get a replacement key from a dealer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          bz and jlevie,

I called a friend of mine here in chattanooga a Bmw certified tech and he said "title in your name with identity" or "registration with id" so i cant get the registration without the emission and cant get emissions without a running car and cant get a running car without a key, so... you get my drift...

          Thanks for the responses

to get the title the car in my name it has to pass sniff test, And to get it tested you need to have a running car, can you see the prediciment.

any how its solved by getting a locksmith to use my trunk lock to make a master out of.

wow sorry i didn't know you actually had to have a car pass smog before you can just title it to your name!
that is mad lame dude! i know in fl you can title the car to your name anytime. hell i just sold 3 cars this year that i didn't have registered just had them parked in my lot.

I feel for you w/ all the trouble you had trying to get into the car.

My central locking mechanism went out 2 yrs ago and I was locked out of my car, even though I had the freakin keys in my hand!! I couldn't get the system to unlock the car with the key for 5 days. Every day I would spend my free hours trying to get a way into the car. I looked into getting a new door-lock. Researched the thing in the Bentley manual and still nothing. So one day I snuck up on the car and caught that little electrical gremlin asleep, and I jammed the key in the door-lock and all the locks opened up. So to fix it from ever happening again I installed a Stellar keyless remote locking unit on the car and the little electrical gremlin ran off to find another E30 to screw with.
