Retrofit 24v AC onto M20s?

M50 AC systems are R134a right? At least most of them are I would assume. Instead of rebuilding the M20 AC compressor, why not retrofit the M50 style stuff onto the M20?

some of the late model 325i cars (1992-93) were made with the R134a AC system. I have a 1993 325ic (one of the last few sold in US) and it has the R134a system. You might be able to find these parts at a junkyard or at Bavarian Recyclers.
