Correct Tach Coding Plug S52 for 85 318i

Finally got my tach hooked up, but now I need a new coding plug to get the right reading, but I'm not sure which year to get. I checked around and think I need a coding plug from an 87 325i, but others indicate any plug from a e30 325i will work. Just checking before I spend money on this thing. Thanks.

I don't believe you can fit a coding plug from an 87 325i into your 84 318i cluster... the clusters aren't the same.

Same as 85. Get a late model 6 cyl cluster, 87+ and you can install correct coding plug in the front. Transfer the fuel gauge over.
