I just talked to Bob Shields last week while looking for a cage welder in SC. We got to talking for quite a while about engine setups in E30's and comparing some notes about my old 24v 318is and the M60 car he recently built. He had some great things to say about the V8 and loves the swap. His stock V8 was pulling 5-6mph more than my 235whp 3.0 on the back straight just before the kink...which is really impressive if you know the track.

I think you'll really enjoy the M60. My brothers stock 540i/6 e34 is very potent and that's in a 3600+ pound package with a 2.82 rear end!
